Shelling:
Sanibel is one of the best Shelling beaches in the world
Some days there are lots of shells, somedays just one or two, but you can always find a few. Bowman’s Beach, Turner Beach, Blind Pass Beach, all good places To go.
Dining:
Lots of great and eclectic places to eat on Sanibel. No chains (except Dairy Queen) be adventuresome. Island Cow, for lunch or dinner, and Sanibel Bean for coffee /tea and Over Easy Cafe for breakfast are my favorites

Ding Darling:
Thats right Sanibel has a National Park. A great place to see some wildlife. Maybe a Roseate Spoonbill, definitely some herons and egrets, and maybe even an alligator. It’s $5.00 a carload to visit.
Kayaking on Tarpon Bay:
you can rent single or tandem kayaks.
Rent Bicycles:
No you REALLY should do this. Billy’s Bikes rents them for like $15.00 a day. Half day rentals are available also Great fun because there are no hills (it’s Florida) there are bike paths throughout the island, and traffic is required to stop for bikers and pedestrians crossing in crosswalks. Disclaimer: Sanibel has many visitors (and some locals) who might not stop so be careful.
